This area spreads between the Ursuline monastery and service entrances to the former Dunaj department store and the Ministry of Culture. It is widely believed that this was the area of the medieval Jewish ghetto (13th-14th century), when Jews were allowed to live within the walls of the free royal town. A small section of the medieval fortifications remains preserved to this day here.
