The building of the former Jewish hospital was built in 1931-1934 after the designs of interwar architects Friedrich Weinwurm and Ignác Vécsei. It was one of the most modern hospitals in Slovakia when it was built. The hospital was nationalized by the Communist regime in 1948 and then served as a maternity hospital for decades. Many Bratislava residents were born here. Today it is used as a hotel.
