The two-story building of the former Jewish canteen was built in 1937 after the designs of architects Desider Quastler and Josef Konrad. Originally established to serve needy Jewish residents of Bratislava and to provide them with kosher meals, it remained a hub of Jewish community life during the Communist period and until the 1990s, when the kosher Chez David restaurant was established here. The Castle Brewery is located in the premises today.
